Built by a Classroom Teacher

teaches AP Physics at Allendale Columbia School in Rochester, NY. Phab Physics began as a way to give students useful practice with immediate feedback. It grew into the set of materials Alex wanted at hand while planning, teaching, circulating, reteaching, and reviewing.

Course Coverage

The core sequences for all three courses are built and available. Each course combines tiered practice, guided experiences, and printable classroom materials; teacher accounts provide answer keys, guides, and class progress tools.

Teaching Philosophy

The 80/20 Principle
Focus on the 20% of content that produces 80% of understanding. Go deep on five things rather than shallow on fifty. Skills compound; coverage doesn't.
See It Before You Solve It
Students need something concrete to predict, watch, sketch, or manipulate before the mathematics can explain it. Sometimes that is a classroom demonstration; sometimes it is a graph, diagram, or simulation. The representation should make the physics worth discussing, not merely decorate the calculation.
Structure Does the Work
A handout should reduce decision fatigue for teachers and students without scripting every classroom. It should make the lesson's purpose and sequence clear, while leaving room for a real object, a familiar demonstration, or a simulation when equipment differs from room to room.
Give the Idea a Second Route
Online practice and guided problems are not just extra assignments. They revisit the day's major lesson in a different form, so a student who did not quite understand it in class has another honest chance for it to click.

What This Site Is NOT

This site does not replace a teacher, laboratory work, or pencil-and-paper problem solving.

Physics still requires sketches, free-body diagrams, derivations, experimental judgment, algebra, and extended explanations. The online work adds another representation and faster feedback; it supports those practices rather than substituting for them.
