Teaching Philosophy
The 80/20 Principle
Focus on the 20% of content that produces 80% of understanding. Go deep on five things rather than shallow on fifty. Skills compound; coverage doesn't.
See It Before You Solve It
Students need to see before they understand. Every guided problem opens with a running simulation you can watch and push on — sliders first, formulas second. Where the physics is genuinely surprising (the rolling race, equal momentum but unequal energy), the simulation makes the surprise visible before the math explains it.
Structure Does the Work
Well-designed materials reduce the need for verbal instruction, enable productive work time, and free the teacher to observe, circulate, and ask questions rather than perform.
What This Site Is For
Quick skill practice with immediate feedback
Confidence building through repetition of core calculations
Concept reinforcement through interactive guided problems
Self-paced review before tests and quizzes
See It In Action
Guided problems are interactive 3D simulations.
Here's a live one — the classic rolling race. Same mass, same radius: who wins?
Practice problems ladder from
Easy to Boss — every student gets different numbers with instant feedback. These four are real examples
from the Unit 3 "Work" generator bank:
This site does not replace pencil-and-paper problem solving.
Physics requires derivation skills, free-body diagrams, algebraic manipulation, and extended written explanations. These skills must be practiced on paper. The online problems here are meant to complement that work by providing quick feedback on numerical calculations and conceptual understanding.
Roadmap
Every AP Physics 1 unit is fully built out: 1,000+ auto-generated practice problems, 50+ interactive guided problems with explorable 3D simulations, posted lesson plans for every day, and quizzes & tests (answer keys in the teacher vault). There's also an optional Unit 0: Math Prep summer unit with Algebra Blocks equation training.
